Night's Surrender by Amanda Ashley

Abbey Marie Cordova knows all about vampires.  I mean her parents are vampires, and so is everyone else in her family except her.  Thing is now in her early Twenties does she want to grow old, and drink blood?  Life is hard enough for Abbey as her dream of being a successful actress just isn't happening.  Just as she was leaving New York to head home fate makes an appearance and she literally runs into Niccola Desanto an ancient vampire.  What are the chances that Abbey's dream guy would be a vampire?

Shadows Striker by Dianne Duvall

Well, I know what I'll be doing next week, reading books 1 thru 5 of Ms. Duvall's Shadow Series.  I just had the pleasure of reading Shadows Striker, Book No. 6.  I have not read any previous books in this series except for a short novella.  I absolutely loved it!   Heather Lane is an army brat whose Father is a General in the United States army.  She has the talent or curse for being able to read minds.  She uses her talents for government agencies but passes her talent off as reading facial expressions of people.  Only her Father knows of her true talent.  For the past year Heather has been having the same dream every night.  She is in a small clearing by her house in the country when vampires suddenly attack.  Vampires, can you imagine they're not even real!  Until one night her dream comes true and they are more real then she could have ever imagined.  Good thing that the hunky looking vampire, known as Ethan is real too and saves Heather.  Although this book is number six of the series, I had no trouble following along, but I'm sure it would be more enjoyable read in order.  4 stars all the way!

Under the Covers by Claire Boston

I just had the pleasure of reading Claire Boston's latest novel, "Under the Covers".   Elle moves to Texas with her five year old son, Toby to escape an abusive relationship.  Vowing to never let a man control her life again she opens up a Cafe/Book store in Houston, Texas.  What she finds is more than she expected.  Relative strangers help Elle from a disastrous opening and one in particular stirs her interest even though she has sworn off men.  Now Ms. Boston is from Australia so I am not sure if it was intentional or not, but the man who peaks Elle's attention is named George Jones.  Yes, just like the famous country star.  This book has heart and there were enough twists and turn to have me finish it in one day.  The only thing that would have made it better in my humble opinion would have been some steaming love scenes.   Spoiler Alert, the first time George and Elle are romantic I wasn't even sure anything happened between them beyond a kiss till it was referenced later in the book.   Great beach read!

Courting Innocence by Kimberly Dean

Fans of "50 Shades of Grey" will enjoy the latest novel by Kimberly Dean called "Courting Innocence".  Erin has led a privileged life, but the one thing she has always wanted has always been denied to her.  Well that is about to change! After a failed engagement she decides to change her life.  Enter Luxxor a matchmaking service (or is it?) where she meets lots of sexy men who do absolutely nothing for Erin.  When Luxxor provides Erin's dream date, Colton King her brother's best friend, Erin hopes dreams really can come true.  Colton King has fantasized about Erin, but he owes her family everything and he promised when he was younger to stay clear of her.  This story has many twists and turns to keep the reader engaged and hoping love conquers all.   A great summer read and I would give it 4 stars!  Enjoy
